Ashlie Manwaring is a 4th year Psychology Honours student at the University of Canberra and chapter lead of the Australian Psychedelic Society in Canberra. Ashlie has an interest in the psychedelic experience as a mental healthcare treatment modality and plans to specialise in the subject throughout her future career. Ashlie is currently conducting her first research project, examining how differences in intention, mindset and setting influence the outcomes of psilocybin use in Australia when taken outside of a clinical setting. Based on data gathered from the study, Ashlie will be discussing what psilocybin use currently looks like in Australia, and will disseminate the detailed findings of her research. Ashlie will also talk about the unique challenges and opportunities students may encounter when choosing to build a career in the psychedelic space.
